Evolution of a drawing

Only halfway finished, but couldn't resist putting it all together to see the progress.  About 16 hours completed so far!

Music: Tori Amos "Pretty good year"

I have to admit, I have so many strong feelings about this portrait.  I don't believe that I have drawn a portrait of a person already passed on before now.  I have strong urges on a daily basis, I admit that for me it is somewhat normal to be passionate about certain drawings, but the pull to complete this one is out of this world.  I think about it all the time, I look at it all the time, constantly critiquing, constantly adjusting.

When I decided to make a movie out of my progress thus far, I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I knew it needed music.  The first thought I had about music was Tori Amos.  Now, I love Tori Amos and it seemed perfect.  As I perused my collection, I had a second thought and felt that Tori is an acquired taste and started looking for a different band.  I just couldn't find anything that fit, so I started searching on the future owners Facebook page for information.  As I scrolled and scrolled through years of posts, I discovered the angel on the left of the portrait, her birthday is January 7th.  At first I didn't make the connection, then it hit me, this was the day I started drawing the portrait.  I had felt moved to start this portrait on January 7th after seeing the future owners post about the angels 30th birthday.  I didn't even think about it being the exact day of her birthday, I just felt the love and heartbreak she had for this angel and decided to start a drawing.  So I am still scrolling and scrolling, then I see it, I couldn't miss it, a giant photo of Tori Amos and a short explanation how this angels favorite band/artist is Tori Amos!  Here is your sign!!  So Tori Amos it is, I went back through my collection and was drawn to the song "Pretty good year", it fit nicely and even faded out perfectly.

Now you tell me who is in control here?
