Deciding to bring love and light to friends, strangers and loved ones by gifting a drawn portrait of a dearly departed family member. Each drawing subject has touched me deeply and inspired me to create.
In 2014, I lined up a full year of portraits of our departed loved ones. Depending on the detail of the photo, each portrait took approximately 40-60 hours to complete. Each portrait is featured here alongside my own thoughts, stories, feelings and even words from the recipients. Completed hand drawn portraits are given to the chosen persons.
I've decided I will be drawing portraits until the day comes where I can no longer hold a pencil. So keep coming back to check on me.
